Spanish regional governments allocate funds for infrastructure in small towns

The regional delegate of the Junta de Castilla y León, José Antonio Rubio, visited Soto de Cerrato in Palencia and highlighted a new multi‑purpose hall built with a €105,000 investment, of which the Junta contributed €79,692. The 148 m² facility will serve social, cultural and municipal functions. Rubio also reviewed other local subsidies, including a €50,200 grant for housing rehabilitation, €23,336 from the Cohesion Fund for public works, €6,600 for hiring a disabled worker, and €12,000 for flood‑recovery efforts.

In Cuenca, the Junta de Castilla‑La Mancha delegate, Marian López, inspected Olivares de Júcar and announced a €30,000 investment to renovate the schoolyard of the local primary school, which serves five pupils. López also confirmed ongoing support for the village’s elderly care home with an annual €28,000 allocation, a home‑care assistance service, and other community projects such as a private residence and a funeral home. Both visits emphasized the regional governments’ role in sustaining public services and improving quality of life in Spain’s small municipalities.
