Spanish regions invest in unified digital health and social data systems

The Canary Islands government has authorized an expenditure of 37.23 million euros to implement a unified Electronic Health Record (MAGEC HCE) across its entire healthcare network. The project, managed by the Canary Islands Health Service (SCS), aims to consolidate clinical information into a single corporate system to improve interoperability, data quality, and coordination between different levels of care. The 60-month contract will focus on creating an architecture capable of integrating advanced analytics and artificial intelligence to support clinical practice and strategic planning.

In Madrid, the regional government has approved 22 million euros for the second phase of the Unique Social History (HSU) and Advanced Home Telecare project. This platform unifies social, health, housing, and economic data to facilitate remote assistance for dependent individuals. The system connects state, regional, and local administrations, allowing professionals to consult integrated information. The upcoming phase will expand services through a digital account, enabling citizens to access records, manage appointments, and process benefits such as the Senior Card.
