Spanish regions unveil subsidy schemes for family business succession and hiring

The Junta de Extremadura opened applications on 7 August for a succession‑planning aid for family‑owned firms. The programme provides up to €20,000 per beneficiary, covering 80 % of eligible costs for drafting or updating a family protocol and a twelve‑month external consultancy. A total budget of €500,000 is available and applications close on 6 October. Eligible firms must be incorporated in Extremadura, have operated for at least 15 years and employ a minimum of seven workers.

In Andalusia, the regional employment authority launched the Line 5 of the Emplea‑T programme, allocating €317,046 for Almería and €2.18 million overall. The scheme offers a €20,000 incentive for each permanent, full‑time hire of a job‑seeker who completed the EPES (Experiencias Profesionales para el Empleo) internship, rising to €22,000 when the hired person is a woman. The measure targets unemployed individuals, including people with disabilities, those at risk of social exclusion and ethnic minorities, aiming to secure at least 880 new contracts in the province.
