Spanish reservoirs report declining water levels
Water reserves in several Spanish reservoirs are experiencing declines due to a lack of precipitation.
The Monteagudo de las Vicarías reservoir in Soria is currently at 74.9% capacity, holding 7.2 cubic hectometers. This represents a slight weekly decrease of 0.06 cubic hectometers and sits below the levels recorded during the same period last year.
In the Duero basin, the La Cuerda del Pozo reservoir has dropped to 53.19% capacity, following a weekly loss of 3.352 cubic hectometers. The reservoir currently holds 132.324 cubic hectometers. This level is significantly lower than the 64.93% capacity recorded in September 2025, a decline attributed to the total absence of rainfall in the area over the last seven days.
