Spanish towns advance major municipal infrastructure projects

The city council of San Vicente del Raspeig confirmed that the second phase of the Centro del Agua is proceeding on schedule, with concrete work on four new pools already under way and an expected completion in 2027. Mayor Pachi Pascual praised the progress, noting that “the new pools are already taking shape and allow residents to see the real scale of this long‑awaited project.” The facility will include photovoltaic panels, upgraded water‑treatment systems and full accessibility for people with reduced mobility.

In Vilagarcía, work has begun on the pedestrianisation of Vicente Risco street as part of a €365,000 urban‑humanisation scheme. The eight‑month project will reshape the historic centre with single‑platform stone paving, a green strip along modern buildings, underground utilities and new public furniture. Local officials said the work will “continue gaining public spaces in a city centre designed for people.”
