Spanish towns Ampolla and Ripollet roll out new participatory platforms

The municipality of l'Ampolla has opened voting on five projects for its 2026 Participatory Budget, allocating €30,000 to the proposal that receives the most support. The projects include a youth centre at the municipal sports hall, a road‑safety training park, a dedicated cat‑shelter, new giant statues and capgrossos, and a shaded promenade area. Voting runs from 28 July to 12 August 2026 and can be done online via Decidim l'Ampolla or in person.

In Ripollet, the town council has introduced the DigiCanvis platform, a free‑software system that lets municipal employees submit, discuss and vote on ideas to improve internal processes and public services. Launched in December 2025, the platform has recorded 14 proposals, 75 votes and five ideas already implemented, demonstrating an internal push for collaborative innovation.
