Spanish wildfires in Cáceres and Huelva see containment and evacuation efforts

In the municipality of Casas de Millán, Cáceres, fire crews continued operations after the level‑1 danger alert was lifted at 07:55 h. The blaze remains in an extinction phase, with six ground fire‑fighting units, two environmental agents, four technical crews and heavy machinery still on site, supported by the Guardia Civil and the Red Cross.

In Moguer, Huelva, strong winds accelerated a forest fire that prompted the activation of evacuation orders for nearby farms. The response included five helicopters, two light amphibious aircraft, four water‑bomb trucks, 58 ground personnel and a medical unit, coordinated by the municipal mayor, provincial fire services, environmental agents and local police. Authorities are working to protect residents and prevent further spread.

Both incidents underscore ongoing challenges in managing Spain’s summer wildfires, with authorities maintaining vigilance to prevent re‑ignition and safeguard local communities.
