Spanish women's futsal clubs face preseason challenges

Spanish women's futsal clubs are facing different challenges as they prepare for the new season.

Fundación Cajasol Andalucía, the reigning champion of Liga Iberdrola and Copa de la Reina, has begun preseason training in Dos Hermanas. Led by coach Ricardo Torronteras, the squad features significant changes with several new players, including Juliana Ocaña and Inma Lavado. Captain Sasa Barón noted that while the team is largely new, they maintain high ambitions for the upcoming season. Some players, such as Bianca Polo and María Reis, are currently away on international duty with Spain and Portugal.

In contrast, Fútbol Sala Femenino Caspe is struggling with a player shortage. Following the departure of key players like captain Ana Vergés, Raquely, Milena, and Martina, the senior squad has been reduced to only seven players. The club is currently without a goalkeeper and needs to reach at least ten players to guarantee participation in the season. The club has issued an open call for women of all ages and experience levels to join their training sessions without commitment.
