Sparta Municipal Stadium Reopens After €630,000 Upgrade

The Municipal Stadium of Sparta reopened to the public and athletes on Friday, 31 July, after a €630,000 renovation funded through the Philodimos II programme and municipal resources.

The upgrades include a new tartan track, two FIBA‑spec 3x3 basketball courts, refurbished stands with a new structural framework and seating, and ongoing work on locker rooms and the installation of additional sports equipment. The municipality set daily opening hours from 07:00 to 22:00, with special opening times of 17:00‑22:00 on 31 July and 1 August. Further complementary works may continue, and hours can be adjusted for safety or maintenance.
