Specialty shaved ice pop-up shops debut at Lumine Ikebukuro and Hankyu Umeda

Various specialty shaved ice (kakigori) pop-up events are being held at major Japanese department stores to offer seasonal desserts.

At Lumine Ikebukuro, the shop ‘Kori no Ne’ is hosting a limited-time event from August 11 to September 23, 2026. The shop uses natural ice from Hokuto City, Yamanashi Prefecture, paired with seasonal ingredients and homemade syrups.

Meanwhile, Hankyu Umeda Main Store will host the ‘Honjitsu, Kakigori Biyori’ event from August 26 to September 1, 2026. Featured vendors include Miyazaki Hyokaten, making its debut at the store with sugar-free syrups; Kyohika Tsurara, offering unique flavor combinations like Kyoho grape with Gorgonzola; and Fruit Stand Andy, which focuses on intense fruit flavors.
