Speedway Grand Prix announces 2027 calendar shifts

The 2027 Speedway Grand Prix (SGP) calendar features significant changes, including a major shift toward international expansion and the loss of traditional European venues due to financial disagreements.

For the first time since 1995, Sweden will not host a Grand Prix event in 2027 after negotiations with Malilla failed over financial terms. Similarly, the series will depart from Landshut, Germany, due to unmet promoter expectations. The season will instead open in Donji Kraljevec, Croatia, and include a new round in Ipswich, United Kingdom.

In a move toward globalizing the sport, the SGP will return to Australia, with two final rounds scheduled in Adelaide. Promoters are also reportedly exploring the possibility of hosting a round in the United States, which would mark the first time the series enters North America. The 2027 season will consist of 11 rounds, though one date remains unconfirmed.
