Sporting SAD approves executive pay raises and debt issuance
The General Assembly of Sporting SAD has approved a significant increase in executive remuneration and authorized new debt issuance. During a lengthy meeting held at the Estádio José Alvalade, shareholders voted by a large majority to increase the salaries of executive administrators by approximately 18.7%.
Under the new policy, President Frederico Varandas will see his fixed compensation rise from 300,000 to 354,000 euros for the 2026/27 fiscal year, with total potential earnings reaching 534,000 euros including variable components. Other executives, including Francisco Salgado Zenha and André Bernardo, are also subject to the increase.
Additionally, the assembly authorized the SAD to enter the market for bond issuances up to a maximum of 150 million euros, valid until October 2031. This measure is intended to provide financial tools for the club's investment and renewal strategies. The assembly also approved the 2025/26 annual report, which recorded a profit of approximately 34.7 million euros, marking the fifth consecutive year of positive results.
