Sports Update: Paysandu wins legal battle and Mitoma nears Brighton return

In Brazilian legal news, a court has ruled in favor of the football club Paysandu in a lawsuit brought by an agent company representing former player Yago Pikachu. The agent company had sought approximately 313 million yen (10 million reais) in damages, claiming that Paysandu intentionally hindered a potential transfer to Goiás in 2014 to prevent the agency from receiving its contractually mandated 70 percent share of revenue. The court rejected these claims.

Yago Pikachu, who previously played for Shimizu S-Pulse in Japan, is currently playing for Clube do Remo.

In English Premier League updates, Brighton & Hove Albion manager Fabian Hürzeler provided an update on the fitness of Kaoru Mitoma. Following surgery for a hamstring injury that caused him to miss the World Cup, Mitoma is nearing a return but is not yet match-fit. While his return was previously anticipated shortly after the international break, Hürzeler noted that the player is still working toward full fitness before he can rejoin team training and competitive play.
