Spotify expands Partner Program to Brazil, Mexico and 35 other markets
Spotify is launching its Spotify Partner Program in over 35 new markets, including Brazil and Mexico, marking the largest geographic expansion for the initiative. The program introduces new monetization avenues for eligible podcasters, specifically targeting the growing video podcast sector.
Under the new model, creators can earn revenue through advertising on the free tier, revenue sharing from Premium subscribers, and a new ‘Premium Video Revenue’ model based on the time Premium users spend watching video podcasts. Notably, creators retain 100% of the income from their own sponsorships and branded content. For Premium users, the program aims to provide a smoother experience by removing dynamic programmatic ads while preserving organic host-read sponsorships.
To qualify, creators must meet specific engagement metrics, including having at least three published episodes, 2,000 hours of consumption, and 1,000 unique engaged listeners within the last 30 days. The expansion comes as video podcast consumption rises significantly in markets like Mexico and Brazil.
