Správa železnic tenders electrification for Havlíčkův Brod to Hlinsko line

The Czech railway administration, Správa železnic, is seeking a designer and contractor for the electrification of a 40-kilometer section of track between Havlíčkův Brod and Hlinsko. The project, valued at approximately 1.179 billion CZK, is being tendered under a Design & Build model.

Construction is expected to begin in early 2028, with completion targeted for mid-2029. Once finished, electric trains will be able to operate between Pardubice and Havlíčkův Brod. For the non-electrified section beyond Hlinsko, battery-powered trains will be utilized, recharging while traveling on the electrified segments. The modernization is expected to reduce travel times between Havlíčkův Brod and Hlinsko by roughly seven minutes and support zero-emission freight and passenger transport.
