Správa železnic tenders for Prague railway corridor expansion

Správa železnic (SŽ) has launched a tender for design documentation to expand the railway corridor between Běchovice and Libně in Prague. The project involves adding a fourth track on the southern side of the existing corridor to separate suburban and long-distance traffic, thereby increasing capacity for future high-speed trains.

The estimated value of the contract is approximately 323 million CZK. The selected designer will be responsible for construction permit documentation, implementation documentation, and engineering-geological surveys.

Key improvements include a new platform and an extended underpass at Libně station, as well as modernized, barrier-free stops in Kyje and Dolní Počernice. The expansion is a critical component of the planned high-speed rail network connecting Prague to Brno. Construction is tentatively expected to begin in mid-2029.
