Spyro: A Realm Beyond to feature full flight mechanics in 2027

Details have emerged regarding Spyro: A Realm Beyond, the next main entry in the Spyro series and the first original title in the franchise since 2008. Developed by Toys for Bob and published by Activision, the game is scheduled for a 2027 release on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Windows, and Nintendo Switch 2.

A major gameplay shift includes the introduction of full flight mechanics. Unlike previous entries where the character was limited to gliding, Spyro will now be able to fly freely. Developers Paul Yan and Lou Studdert noted that this change allows for increased verticality in level design and larger, more expansive worlds to encourage exploration.
