SQM launches Health Master Plan for mining regions of Tarapacá and Antofagasta at Exponor 2026

SQM concluded the Exponor 2026 fair, emphasizing health, talent development and female leadership in mining. The company unveiled the Plan Maestro Salud, a public‑private partnership aimed at expanding medical access in the Tarapacá and Antofagasta regions. The initiative includes mobile medical deployments with Fundación Acrux and Fundación Arturo López Pérez, the establishment of a SAMU base in Pozo Almonte, the Ruta Sonrisas program and scholarships for internal medicine and family medicine specialties. Local authorities praised the effort; the regional health minister said it “allows us to move toward a more dignified health system with greater access for people in Quillagua and María Elena.”

In addition, SQM announced the Sumando 2026 program, a collaboration with SENCE and municipal labor offices that will train about 760 people for jobs matching industry needs. The company also promoted its SQMentors mentorship scheme, connecting students from regional universities with mining professionals. According to SQM spokesperson Gina Ocqueteau, “We are satisfied to have hosted students, executives and community members, opening our doors and answering their queries.”
