Sri Lanka Launches Dengue Eradication Programme in Eastern Province

A special dengue‑elimination campaign was launched in the Eastern Province of Sri Lanka under the theme “Dengue‑free East – Towards a Safe Society”. The initiative, organized by the youth wing of the Sri Lanka Muslim Congress, was initiated by former parliamentarian Hon. M.I.M. Mansoor and attended by the party’s national leader and MP Hon. Ravu Hakeem, who officially inaugurated the programme.

The campaign aims to eradicate dengue, improve public health and environmental cleanliness, and boost community awareness through various practical measures. Several parliamentarians, including MPs Udhumaleppa and Abdul Wasi, former MP Basheer, and party officials, took part in the launch, signalling political support for the health drive across the province.
