SriLankan Airlines conducts Airbus A330 training for Etihad Airways

SriLankan Airlines has completed a specialized Airbus A330 Line Flying Under Supervision (LFUS) programme for six senior training and examination pilots from Etihad Airways. The initiative utilized SriLankan Airlines’ Airbus A330 fleet, flight instructors, and training infrastructure to provide professional development for the visiting examiner pilots.

The programme included five Type Rating Examiners (TREs) and one Senior Type Rating Examiner (STRE) from Etihad Airways. According to Chaminda De Zoysa, Head of Flight Operations at SriLankan Airlines, the successful assignment demonstrates the airline’s capacity to serve as a regional aviation training partner by providing high-quality solutions to international operators. The process was supported by the Civil Aviation Authority of Sri Lanka (CAASL) and the Ministry of Defence to secure necessary frameworks and clearances.
