SS Rajamouli prepares global film Varanasi with Mahesh Babu

Director SS Rajamouli is currently working on the upcoming film Varanasi, starring Mahesh Babu, which is aimed at the global market. The project follows the international success of Rajamouli’s RRR.

In a recent interview, SS Karthikeya discussed his father’s filmography, noting that while RRR is the ultimate film, he considers Eega to be the best work in Rajamouli’s career. He identified Student No 1 as his least favorite film, describing it as feeling ‘cringe’ by modern standards. Karthikeya also attributed the global appeal of RRR to its ability to blend music, heroism, thrills, and action into a single experience.

Following the release of Varanasi, industry speculation focuses on which director Mahesh Babu will collaborate with next. While several prominent Tollywood directors are currently occupied with other major projects, finding a director capable of maintaining the momentum of a Rajamouli production remains a significant challenge for the actor.
