SS3 Flaminia highway faces closures and recent accident
The SS3 Flaminia highway will undergo significant closures and repairs. Starting September 9, Anas will close a five-kilometer stretch between Gualdo Tadino and Nocera Umbra for deep pavement restoration. The project, valued at 5 million euros, is expected to continue until the end of October. During this period, traffic will be diverted to the old state road route, and intermediate junctions at Voltole-Busche and Gaifana will remain closed.
In a separate incident on the Flaminia near the Eggi di Spoleto junction, a serious rear-end collision occurred on September 6. An electric vehicle struck another car carrying a mother and daughter, causing the latter to roll three times. Both women were airlifted to the hospital by the Nibbio helicopter; while their condition was initially critical, they are not reported to be in life-threatening danger. Authorities are investigating why the electric vehicle's automatic emergency braking system did not intervene during the impact.
