Rome football clubs advance stadium and growth projects

Major football clubs in Rome are advancing significant infrastructure and sporting projects. AS Roma CEO John Galantic has outlined a long-term vision for the Friedkin family's ownership, focusing on a new stadium project in Pietralata expected to begin in 2027 and finish by 2029-2030. The club is also prioritizing youth development through a proposed Under 23 team and seeking offensive reinforcements for the January transfer window, with players like Endrick being monitored.

Simultaneously, SS Lazio is working to renovate the Stadio Flaminio. Rome Mayor Roberto Gualtieri confirmed that while the project must be adapted to meet State Superintendency requirements to preserve the original design, the municipality supports the initiative. Officials hope to grant public interest status by the end of the year. However, some critics, including Federsupporter president Alfredo Parisi, have raised concerns regarding the project's feasibility and potential capacity limits of 30,000 to 35,000 seats.

On the pitch, AS Roma continues its campaign under manager Gian Piero Gasperini, with recent focus on the integration of talent like Rodrigo Mora, who is expected to thrive under Gasperini's tactical guidance.
