Stadtradeln 2026 cycling event sees record results in Germany
The 2026 Stadtradeln cycling initiative saw significant participation across different German regions, including Teublitz and Saarpfalz.
In Teublitz, participants set a new record by cycling 53,188 kilometers over 21 days. Despite having fewer participants than the previous year, the total distance increased by approximately 2,000 kilometers compared to 2025, resulting in an estimated reduction of nine tons of CO2. Mayor Thomas Beer honored the top teams and individual cyclists, with ESC Teublitz securing first place in the team rankings.
In the Saarpfalz district, the Landratsamt team demonstrated a 50% increase in performance compared to the previous year. The team of 29 employees completed 398 trips, totaling 7,795 kilometers. Individual standout performers included Torsten Czech, who surpassed the 1,000-kilometer mark, and Jasmin Steinmetz. District Administrator Frank John noted that the initiative aims to promote health, well-being, and team spirit within the administration.
