STADTRADELN cycling competition concludes in Gunzenhausen and Rasdorf
The STADTRADELN cycling competition has concluded in the German municipalities of Gunzenhausen and Rasdorf, highlighting local efforts toward sustainable mobility.
In Gunzenhausen, 48 teams participated, with 893 cyclists covering a total of 241,429 kilometers. This participation resulted in an estimated reduction of 40 tons of CO2, an increase of 5 tons compared to the previous year. The team ‘Wormer Radler’ secured the top ranking in the local standings with 32,843 kilometers.
In Rasdorf, 65 active participants covered 14,682 kilometers across 546 trips, nearly doubling the distance achieved the previous year. Individual winners included Christine Zopf and Christian Neidhart, while Team Grüsselbacher took first place among the teams. However, local officials noted that the future of the initiative in the region is uncertain due to the removal of funding by the state of Hessen.
