Wernigerode GWW continues street art tradition with international artists

The Gebäude- und Wohnungsbaugesellschaft Wernigerode mbH (GWW) has continued its “Kunst am Bau” (art in architecture) initiative by commissioning three international street artists to create murals in Wernigerode.

The project features works by Italian artists Alessio-B. and Tony Gallo, alongside Brazilian artist Giulia Yoshimura, known as “Mura.” The artists applied their work to residential buildings in the Stadtfeld, Burgbreite, Kastanienwäldchen, and Bert-Heller-Straße areas.

GWW Managing Director Christian Zeigermann stated that the initiative aims to provide more identity and revitalization to high-rise residential areas. He noted that the art serves as an orientation point for residents and helps make these locations feel more individual.
