Standard Bank Angola lists on BODIVA exchange

Standard Bank Angola (SBA) has officially transitioned into a publicly listed company following its admission to the Angola Debt and Securities Exchange (BODIVA). This marks SBA as the seventh company to be listed on the exchange. The listing follows a public offering (OPV) conducted between September 11 and 25 as part of the state's Privatization Program (PROPRIV), which raised 208 billion kwanzas through the sale of 4.76 million ordinary shares, representing 34% of the bank's social capital.

BODIVA Executive Commission President Cristina Giovanna Dias Lourenço announced that the exchange aims to increase the number of listed companies to 12 by 2028. The SBA listing is notable for its significant participation from 39 non-resident foreign investors, signaling increased international confidence in the Angolan capital market. With this admission, the total market capitalization on BODIVA has reached approximately six trillion kwanzas, roughly 4% of Angola's GDP.

Standard Bank Group CEO Sim Tshabalala attended the ceremony, emphasizing the group's long-term commitment to the Angolan market and its role in driving financial sector development.
