Standard de Liège extends Bernard Nguene's contract until 2029
Standard de Liège has officially extended the contract of 20-year-old Cameroonian forward Bernard Nguene until June 30, 2029. The agreement includes an option for an additional season.
Nguene, who joined the Belgian club from OGC Nice in February 2026, has become an increasingly important figure in the squad. Since his arrival, he has made twenty appearances for the first team, recording two goals and two assists. In the current season alone, he has started six matches, contributing one goal and two assists.
Sporting official Marc Wilmots stated that the new deal rewards the development of a “young, hard-working and determined attacker” who has become a key part of the core squad. Nguene expressed pride in the extension, describing it as a sign of confidence from the club's management and technical staff.
