Star Trek celebrates 60th anniversary with global events and world record attempt
The Star Trek franchise will celebrate its 60th anniversary beginning September 8, 2026, marking the date of its original 1966 television premiere. Paramount has announced a series of global events and new projects to commemorate the milestone.
A central highlight of the celebration is an attempt to break a Guinness World Record for the “Most People Performing the Vulcan Salute Simultaneously.” This event will take place in person at the Science Museum in London, with opportunities for digital participation from viewers worldwide.
Television programming on CBS will also feature themed episodes of “The Price Is Right” and “Let’s Make a Deal,” featuring guests from “Star Trek: Strange New Worlds” such as Rebecca Romijn and Ethan Peck. Additionally, the franchise is rolling out several new projects, including the second season of “Star Trek: Scouts” on YouTube and an exclusive preview of “Star Trek: Starfleet Academy” at New York Comic Con in October.
