Star Trek 60th anniversary celebrations

Overview

The Star Trek franchise is marking its 60th anniversary through various commemorative releases and events. Initial celebrations include the release of a new wave of action figures by Nacelle Toys and a LEGO Icons U.S.S. Enterprise NCC-1701 Bridge set scheduled for September 1. Global events are set to begin on September 8, 2026, marking the anniversary of the original 1966 television premiere. Paramount+ will host a free fan event, ‘60 Years of Star Trek – Space For Everybody’, at Movie Park Germany. In Los Angeles, the Autry Museum will host a free outdoor screening of ‘The Man Trap’ and an advance screening of ‘Orders of Magnitude’. International activities are also planned for the International Space Station. A central highlight was achieved at the Science Museum in London, where 934 fans gathered to set a Guinness World Record. Participants performed the iconic Vulcan salute simultaneously for one minute to commemorate the anniversary. The attempt was verified by judge Paulina Sapinska, and the official certificate was presented to the museum’s commercial director, Ben Lheureux. Actor Martin Quinn, who portrays Montgomery “Scotty” Scott in ‘Star Trek: Strange New Worlds’, also took part in the event. Television and theatrical programming will expand to include a six-episode marathon of ‘Star Trek: The Animated Series’ on MeTV Toons starting September 5, alongside the previously announced theatrical re-releases of the first four feature films in over 750 U.S. theaters. CBS will feature themed episodes of ‘The Price Is Right’ and ‘Let’s Make a Deal’ with guests from ‘Star Trek: Strange New Worlds’, including Rebecca Romijn and Ethan Peck. Upcoming projects include the second season of ‘Star Trek: Scouts’ on YouTube and an exclusive preview of ‘Star Trek: Starfleet Academy’ at New York Comic Con in October.
