Star Trek documentary ‘The Sixty-Year Mission’ to premiere in New York

The documentary ‘The Sixty-Year Mission: How Star Trek Changed Television and the World’ is set to premiere in New York on October 8 at Regal Times Square. Executive produced by William Shatner and directed by Mark A. Altman, the film traces the franchise from its 1966 debut, exploring its cultural influence, representation, and technological inspiration.

The New York premiere will feature a Q&A session with Shatner and several franchise stars, including Brent Spiner, Robert Picardo, Nana Visitor, and Denise Crosby. Following the New York event, the documentary will open exclusively in Regal theaters across the United States on October 9, coinciding with New York Comic Con. A United Kingdom release is scheduled for October 21.

The film includes interviews with over 50 cast members and creatives, such as George Takei, Walter Koenig, Jonathan Frakes, and Simon Pegg. It utilizes rare archival material to examine the vision of creator Gene Roddenberry and the enduring legacy of the series.
