Star Wars Zero Company launches on PC and consoles
Star Wars Zero Company, a single-player turn-based tactical game developed by Bit Reactor and Respawn Entertainment, has officially launched on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series consoles. Set during the twilight of the Clone Wars, the narrative follows Hawks, a former Republic officer leading an elite squad of unconventional mercenaries known as Zero Company. The group is tasked by Republic Intelligence to stop the Infinite Coil, a Separatist-aligned cult led by Kundri Fathom, from spreading the deadly Shadow Plague.
Early critical reception has been largely positive, with the game earning an 86 on Metacritic. Reviewers have praised its XCOM-style tactical combat, cinematic presentation, and character-driven storytelling, with some even suggesting it as a potential Game of the Year contender. However, some critics noted technical concerns regarding PC performance and a relatively linear 40-hour campaign with limited replayability compared to other titles in the genre.
The game features deep squad customization, allowing players to manage specializations, build character bonds to unlock combat synergies, and upgrade their base of operations, The Den.
