Starbucks Korea launches history‑culture program for 1,000 youth
Starbucks Korea announced a partnership with child‑welfare organization Green Umbrella to fund a history and cultural experiential learning program for elementary and middle‑school students attending regional child centers across the country. The three‑year initiative will support roughly 1,000 students, with an annual donation of 1 billion won, totaling 3 billion won. The programme combines a pre‑visit learning activity with field trips to major museums such as the National Museum of Korean History and the National Museum of Korea. Applications are set to open in August, after which participating centers will be selected and the program rolled out nationwide. Starbucks ESG team lead Kim Ji‑young said the effort is intended to give children “the chance to experience historic sites and museums first‑hand.” The initiative builds on a partnership dating back to 2006 that includes various social‑contribution projects.
