STARCARES Renovates University of Lagos Medical College Basketball Court

STARCARES, the community‑impact initiative of global broker STARTRADER, has completed a full refurbishment of the basketball court at the College of Medicine, University of Lagos in Idi‑Araba, Surulere. The upgraded facility features a new playing surface, modern basketball infrastructure, benches, jerseys and equipment, creating a dedicated space for roughly 2,000 future healthcare professionals to relax, train and build community.

The college, which trains doctors, dentists and allied health workers and employs about 1,850 staff across 32 departments, welcomed the new court with groundbreaking and turnover ceremonies. The project, themed “Where Tomorrow STARs Begin,” is intended to give students a practical outlet from the rigors of medical education. CEO Peter Karsten said, “When an institution prepares people to safeguard a nation’s health, their environment should sustain them.”
