Startup Summit 2026 projected to boost Florianópolis economy by R$36.3 million
The Startup Summit 2026 will take place from 26 to 28 August at the CentroSul venue in Florianópolis, Brazil. A technical study estimates a direct economic impact of R$20.2 million from visitor spending, which, after applying a 1.8 × multiplier, translates to a total impact of about R$36.3 million for the local economy.
The event is expected to attract roughly 10 000 participants, including 4 150 national tourists (average daily spend R$680), 250 international tourists (average daily spend R$1 350), 1 960 regional visitors from other parts of Santa Catarina (average daily spend R$510), 3 140 local attendees (average daily spend R$215), and about 500 staff and speakers (average daily spend R$427). Fabio Búrigo Zanuzzi, technical director of Sebrae/SCA, said the summit “demonstrates how innovation moves entire economic chains, strengthens Florianópolis as a national technology hub, and creates long‑term business connections.”
