State of Mexico municipalities boost water treatment capacity and honor service milestones

The municipal government of Tecámac, led by Mayor Rosi Wong Romero, operates six wastewater‑treatment plants that treat 96‑98% of water to high quality, recharge about 20 million m³ of aquifer water annually and seek Zero‑Discharge certification that could save up to 31 million pesos per year.

In Toluca, the municipal water and sanitation agency marked its 46th anniversary, highlighting roughly 130 infrastructure projects, the launch of the Water Plan 2025‑2050, and the commissioning of 21 new water sources—16 already in operation. The agency reported financial self‑sufficiency, historic revenue, the rehabilitation of 28 wells and a recovered flow of 675 L/s, reinforcing water supply for local families.
