State of Mexico police seize suspected crystal drug, arrest two women in Toluca

The Secretariat of Security of the State of Mexico (SSEM) detained two women, identified as Edith N, 34, and Lorena N, 30, during a patrol in the Ocho Cedros neighbourhood of Toluca. Officers stopped the vehicle after hearing loud music, a violation of local noise regulations, and conducted preventive checks. Inside the car they discovered a transparent bag containing 39 sealed plastic wrappers filled with a white granular substance resembling crystal methamphetamine.

The women were read their rights, taken to the Public Ministry office in Metepec, and a criminal investigation was opened for alleged drug‑related offenses. The operation was described as part of strategic deployments by the current administration, including gender‑focused police patrols and community‑based peace table initiatives.
