Statistics Poland conducts unannounced household budget surveys

Statistics Poland (GUS) is conducting its ongoing Household Budget Survey (BBGD) across the country. As part of this continuous research, surveyors may visit randomly selected households without prior announcement to collect data on daily expenses, income, and living conditions.

Participants may be asked to document their spending by collecting receipts in special envelopes provided by the agency. If a purchase lacks a receipt, the expenditure should be manually recorded. The survey aims to provide essential data on how citizens earn and spend money, including costs for food, housing, transport, and services. Participation is voluntary, and households are chosen through a representative sampling method.
