Poland GUS household budget survey
Entities: Polish households · Poland's Central Statistical Office (GUS)
Overview
In early July 2026, Poland’s Central Statistical Office (GUS) announced the launch of a new Household Budget Survey, asking selected households to provide purchase receipts for a month. By early August, the survey had moved into full nationwide implementation. Enumerators began visiting households, offering several data‑collection options—including receipt collection, telephone interviews, and self‑filled paper or online budget books. Participation remained voluntary and free, with respondents able to verify enumerators’ identities. The gathered information is intended to generate key economic indicators on income, spending, housing conditions and material wellbeing for use by the Polish parliament, government agencies, the National Bank of Poland, Eurostat and researchers.
