Statistics Poland reports rising farm income and declining crop yields
Statistics Poland (GUS) has released updated data regarding agricultural income and crop estimates. For 2025, the average income from work in individual farms per conversion hectare was 5,479 PLN, a slight increase of 50 PLN compared to 2024. This change follows a new methodology implemented by GUS that accounts for depreciation as a cost, whereas previous figures were reported on a gross basis.
Preliminary estimates for 2026 indicate a decline in several major crop yields due to unfavorable agrometeorological conditions between late 2025 and summer 2026. Rapeseed and colza harvests are estimated to drop by approximately 14.4% to 3.1 million tonnes, driven by a cold winter, spring frosts, and low precipitation. Other notable decreases include a 4.9% drop in basic cereal harvests and an 18.6% decline in tree fruit production.
