Stavros Floros sues Survivor producers for $100 million
Stavros Floros, a 22-year-old former contestant on Survivor Greece, has filed a $100 million lawsuit against the show’s production companies, including Acun Medya, Acun Ilıcalı, and Skai TV. The legal action follows a severe accident on May 11 in the Dominican Republic, where Floros was struck by a boat propeller while spearfishing during a break in filming. The incident resulted in the amputation of his left leg above the knee and serious injuries to his right ankle.
In the lawsuit, Floros alleges gross negligence, claiming the production failed to provide adequate safety measures, such as security boats, protected zones, or warning signs, despite the high volume of tourist boat traffic in the area. He further alleges that the show’s format forced contestants to fish in open waters, increasing their risk. Additionally, the filing includes shocking claims that the production provided contestants with drugs, including cannabis and cocaine, to keep them calm following the accident.
Acun Medya has issued an official response, categorically denying the allegations and describing them as “baseless, entirely unfounded, and defamatory.” The company stated it has no knowledge of the lawsuit and reserves all legal rights. Floros spent 61 days in a Miami hospital undergoing multiple surgeries following the accident.
