Survivor Greece contestant lawsuit
Overview
Stavros Floros, a 22-year-old contestant on Survivor Greece, has filed a lawsuit seeking approximately $100 million in compensatory and punitive damages following a severe accident in the Dominican Republic in May 2026. While spearfishing during a break in filming near Saona Island, Floros was struck by the propellers of a tourist boat carrying approximately 20 people, resulting in the partial amputation of his left leg above the knee and serious injuries to his right ankle.
Floros alleges gross negligence by the production companies, including Acun Medya, Acun LLC, Acun Ilicali, and Skai TV. The lawsuit, filed in Miami-Dade County, Florida, claims the production failed to provide necessary safety measures, such as security boats, warning signs, or cordoned-off zones in an area with heavy boat traffic. Floros noted that an improvised tourniquet applied by a passenger on the tourist boat was essential in preventing fatal blood loss before he was transported to a trauma center in Miami, where he remained hospitalized for 61 days.
Floros further contends that the show’s format forced contestants into these high-risk environments. One filing includes allegations that the production provided contestants with drugs, including cannabis and cocaine, to maintain calm following the accident. Acun Medya has denied the allegations, describing them as “baseless, entirely unfounded, and defamatory.” While the production company stated the accident occurred outside of competitive filming dynamics, the legal action argues the activity was structured by the production.
