Stavros Nikolaidis criticizes fan behavior at Giorgos Mazonakis memorial
Actor Stavros Nikolaidis has publicly criticized the behavior of certain fans during the 40-day memorial service for singer Giorgos Mazonakis. Speaking via social media and television, Nikolaidis expressed deep dissatisfaction with incidents he described as inappropriate for such a solemn occasion, including reports of individuals shouting or attempting to interfere with the service.
Nikolaidis, a close friend of the late artist, also defended the Mazonakis family against public attacks. He addressed previous tensions between the singer and his relatives, suggesting that while their methods may have been flawed, their intention was to help him. He noted that the singer had previously been diagnosed with psychotic episodes at Dromokaiteio Hospital.
The memorial service, held at the Holy Trinity Church in Nikaia, was attended by the singer's parents, Kleio and Manolis, and his sisters, Maria and Vaso.
