Steam Next Fest features thousands of game demos

Steam Next Fest has brought a massive collection of upcoming titles to the storefront, with more than 8,000 playable demos available. This represents approximately double the number of demos featured during the June edition of the event.

Valve released a list of the 20 most-played demos, showcasing an eclectic mix of genres ranging from humorous cooperative adventures to complex survival and action games. Notable titles among the most popular include ArcheAge Chronicles, Emberville, Fart Together, and Worst Class Ever.

The event has also coincided with renewed controversy regarding AI-assisted game development. Independent developers have raised concerns about the rise of quickly produced AI clones and the potential for code copying, sparking a debate on how to protect original creativity in a crowded digital marketplace.
