Steaua denies reports of Daniel Oprița's resignation

Confusion has emerged regarding the coaching status of Daniel Oprița at Steaua. Following a difficult start to the Liga 2 season, which included three losses, reports surfaced suggesting that Oprița intended to resign due to dissatisfaction with the squad's quality and the current budget.

However, CSA Steaua commander Eduard Danilof has denied these reports, stating that the club has not received any official resignation from the coach. Danilof confirmed that Oprița remains the team's manager and noted that the club is currently dealing with several player injuries. The leadership expressed intentions to bring in more players to strengthen the roster.

Oprița has been with the club since 2019, leading them to multiple high finishes in Liga 2, including a second-place finish in the 2024-2025 season. Despite these performances, organizational issues have prevented the team from promoting to the SuperLiga. The team's next scheduled match is against Csikszereda in the Cupa României play-off.
