Stefanos Tsitsipas reaches 400 career wins at Shanghai Masters

Stefanos Tsitsipas reached a major career milestone by securing his 400th ATP tour-level victory during the Shanghai Masters. The Greek tennis star defeated Luciano Darderi in straight sets, 6-3, 6-4, to advance to the third round of the tournament.

Tsitsipas becomes only the ninth active player to reach the 400-win mark, joining an elite group that includes Novak Djokovic, Marin Cilic, Stan Wawrinka, Gaël Monfils, Alexander Zverev, Grigor Dimitrov, Daniil Medvedev, and Andrey Rublev. His victory in Shanghai was particularly symbolic, as it occurred at the same venue where he secured his first career tour win nine years ago.

Despite a brief delay in the match due to lighting issues affecting visibility, Tsitsipas maintained composure, utilizing a strong serve to dominate the match. Following this win, his live ATP ranking rose from 44 to 38. He is scheduled to face American Taylor Fritz in the next round.
