Steigerwald-Hub: Massive renewable energy project planned in Bavaria
The Scheinfeld region in Bavaria is being developed into a pilot region for renewable energy through the creation of the ‘EnergieHub Steigerwald’. This project aims to integrate existing and future technical infrastructures to create a networked energy system.
Planned developments for the hub include data centers, battery storage facilities, and the largest hydrogen production site in Bavaria. The initiative is supported by the State of Bavaria, the Neustadt/Aisch-Bad Windsheim district, and the government of Middle Franconia, under the patronage of Economic Minister Hubert Aiwanger. The project focuses on ensuring supply security and regional value creation by linking various energy technologies into a central hub.
