Stellantis begins production of Fiat Argo X in Brazil
Stellantis has commenced the assembly of the Fiat Argo X at its Betim plant in Minas Gerais, Brazil. The compact vehicle is expected to launch in the Brazilian market by the end of 2026, with dealership training scheduled for late 2024.
The Argo X is based on the European Grande Panda but features localized design adjustments. While the exterior maintains similarities to the Panda, the Brazilian model will feature a centered Fiat logo on the grille and rear, and lacks side engravings. The interior is a hybrid of various Stellantis components: seats, steering wheel, and door trim are derived from the Grande Panda, while the dashboard structure is based on the Fiat Grizzly. Automatic versions will utilize a central console similar to the Fiat Pulse, and air vents will share components with certain Citroën models.
The vehicle will offer two mechanical configurations. Entry-level versions will feature a 1.0 Firefly aspirated engine with a five-speed manual transmission, producing up to 75 cv. Top-tier configurations will include a 1.0 turbo flex engine paired with a 12V mild hybrid system, delivering 116 cv and 20.4 kgfm of torque, alongside a CVT transmission that simulates seven speeds. Safety features may include up to six airbags, autonomous braking for pedestrians and cyclists, lane maintenance assist, and fatigue warnings.
