Stellantis Cassino plant faces production uncertainty and labor unrest

The Stellantis plant in Cassino faces significant uncertainty as production restarts are delayed and workers remain in limbo. While the sheet metal department is scheduled to reopen on August 26 and the painting department on August 27, the assembly department has no confirmed date for reopening, with gates expected to remain closed until at least September.

The Uilm union has characterized the situation as a structural crisis rather than a standard summer break, citing continuous stops and improvised schedules. Union representatives are demanding concrete investments and the introduction of new vehicle models to prevent regional economic failure. A major meeting involving national Uilm leadership is scheduled for September 15 in Cassino to address the crisis.
