Stellantis extends production halt at Cassino plant
Stellantis has announced a new production halt at its Cassino plant, scheduled from September 21 to 25. The stoppage will affect the assembly, sheet metal, and painting departments, extending a period of minimal activity that has characterized the facility throughout September.
Following a week of near-zero activity, the union UILM of Frosinone is demanding concrete answers regarding the plant's future. The union has outlined five priorities, most notably a demand that Stellantis present a definitive plan by December 2026. This plan must specify which vehicle models will be produced, production volumes, investment levels, and the resulting impact on employment.
Beyond the main plant, the union is also calling for support to help local suppliers reduce their dependence on the Stellantis facility by securing new clients and attracting broader industrial investment to the Frosinone province.
